You might think searching for tabs may be ”the thing“ – I understand that idea.

But it actually isn't, because the tabs – even hundreds of them – don't change position much and the human ”spatial/location memory“ is quite well developed. So it only happens ever so seldom that you search for an open tab and don't find it hovering in instances.

On the other hand, it happens a lot more often that you accidentally close a tab and want to re-open ist quickly; not using keyboard shortcuts the ”Tab Menu“ comes handy there – much more convenient than unintuitively being redirected via the (sometimes painstakingly slow) history panel.

Opera's addons.opera.com doesn't seem to accept M3 extension updates, though.

I get the feeling, Opera is kind of slightly abandoning its own extension repository, by the way. Is it right, that users as well as developers should concentrate on Chrome's addon store instead?

Opera developer builds 56.0.3010.0 and 56.0.3013.0 are crashing a lot on Linux [Mint 19/x64] as well as on Windows [Win10/x64]. Can anyone confirm?

Best reproducible zooming a lot (mouse wheel) in Google Maps, but also scrolling in Google Image search results.

Under Linux there is a SEGFAULT reported (”… in opera-developer[18f1000+58ba000]“)

Browser extensions seem to have lost access to web pages / tab content under certain circumstances.

Take e.g. well-known uBlock: Its action popup remains rather empty and enable/disable button does nothing.

There are no errors shown in dev tools console of popup, though.

Going to Manage extensions and open dev tools on background page makes the popup start working and filling out the access matrix with all those ++ and --.

So it seems to be an issue with throttling of background / event page life cycles.

@tspringer Happens to me as well.

I use the extension "SimpleTabOrder" v0.5.16 by iron2000, though, which allows to re-create old Presto Opera behavior. – And ist is supposed to be active. But after a short while of running Opera, it stops to handle the tab events.

I presume, it has to to with the same issue I reported earlier, Extensions stop working correctly: Perhaps ist's a life-cycle issue with the background event-page or ' tab' access.
