@tspringer Happens to me as well.

I use the extension "SimpleTabOrder" v0.5.16 by iron2000, though, which allows to re-create old Presto Opera behavior. – And ist is supposed to be active. But after a short while of running Opera, it stops to handle the tab events.

I presume, it has to to with the same issue I reported earlier, Extensions stop working correctly: Perhaps ist's a life-cycle issue with the background event-page or ' tab' access.

Confirmed finally(!) being able to synch again!

Browser extensions seem to have lost access to web pages / tab content under certain circumstances.

Take e.g. well-known uBlock: Its action popup remains rather empty and enable/disable button does nothing.

There are no errors shown in dev tools console of popup, though.

Going to Manage extensions and open dev tools on background page makes the popup start working and filling out the access matrix with all those ++ and --.

So it seems to be an issue with throttling of background / event page life cycles.

It affects a whole lot of users for a fact (no rocket science involved: humanity tends to be unorganized and not tidy up after itself!) and there is no need to play the "custodian" of Opera here (a bad habit tempting any project's enthusiasts since the 1990s), as all participants of this discussion are extremely civil.

It's not a normal search field. If you type something there, it uses a technique similar to search suggestions (as you type, each (partial) search string is sent to a backend https://node.windy.com/search/v4.0/<map-center-lat>/<map-center-lon>/<query>?… and suggestions are returned via JSON data).

So with this Chromium update ”The … Suspender“-type extensions finally resume to work without this bug with Opera Developer. (Most other Chromium based browsers had a suitable Chromium version incorporated much earlier already.)

@monsterhart You are right.

The extension was intended for older versions of Opera, where there was no drag'n'drop functionality present for extension icons.

With recent versions of Opera just drag the icons of pinned extensions with the mouse to re-arrange them.
