30.0.1835.26: Site Problems

    • Facebook doesn't load correctly. Icons in the top bar, like Settings and Messages, are missing; the More Stories button does not work.
    • arte.tv doesn't fully load [top area remains empty/black, menu missing], links aren't clickable. We had the same problems a long time ago, though I can't remember which versions of Opera that was with.
  • Forgot:

The Facebook drop-down to choose a page or friend to be autofilled in doesn't work [enter @ into a message field, start typing a name].

Facebook page is loading fine here.

Are you using any extensions? If so try with tehm disabled. Also check adblockers and other similar softwares.

    Seems ok here.

The Facebook drop-down to choose a page or friend to be autofilled in doesn't work [enter @ into a message field, start typing a name].

    It's working for me.

  • First things first: FB loaded fine with the previous beta version [first v30]. I didn't change anything but going from the first Opera v30 beta to the second.

Yes, I do use an extension on FB called Social Fixer - I tried with it enabled [see above, worked previously] and disabled. The same goes for Ghostery and AdBlock.

A set of four screengrabs, two with Opera 30.0.1835.26, two with current Chrome:

    I marked the problematic areas.

To make it absolutely clear: Everything worked fine in the previous v30, nothing except the Opera beta version installed changed. The problem does appear with or without extensions enabled.

  • What happens if you open FB in a private window?

Have you tried to empty cache and remove FB related cookies?

  • Curiously it worked as expected in a private window, so I deleted all cookies related to Facebook [and Social Fixer, for good measure], which didn't help. What did eventually bring back propoer behaviour to Facebook in a normal Opera window was clearing out all browsing data. It appears something got corrupted.

    Thanks!

  • It was probably another extension messing up with FB.
