Remember that your incoming and outgoing mail use different ports. If you have them set to the same port then one will not work.

Check the settings on the "Servers" tab in the account's properties.

For the incoming server, try port 993 with TLS check. If that doesn't work, try port 143 with TLS checked. If that doesn't work, try port 143 with TLS uncheck (not really recommended though as it'll be an insecure connection.

Make sure the server name is correct. I'm not sure if it's mail.godaddy.com or imap.mail.godaddy.com or mail.yoursitename.com or what. Also retype your username and password on the servers tab. And, if your username is your email address, make sure to include the @... part in the username.

If you have anti-virus with an email scanner, turn the email scanner off to see if things work then.

There's a few email scanners which require you to set the correct port but disable TLS - if you set 993 they'll establish a secure connection to the server, but the connection (on your computer) between the scanner and your email program can't be encrypted.
