You're mistaken. The local file will be opened in the plugin for editing. Local HTML files or Text/INI files can be edited using the source editor.

            Right, I don't use plugins. 🙂

It doesn't work for me. Could it be my ancient operating system (XP)?

Or if you have the QAB setup, AKA Bookmark Bar, you can click on the '+' button at the left of the bar or click on a folder on the QAB. When you click on a folder, the first menu option is "Add page", allowing you to add that bookmark page to the folder while maintaining a hierarchical bookmark system that suits your needs.

Since I have the Quick Access Bar set up though clicking on the + works well. I've notice one improvement in Opera 18, which I've just updated too. Now Items in folders on the Quick Access Bar can be deleted. That makes it easier to manage bookmarks in the bar. One can add items with the +, drag them to a folder on the quick access bar, and delete if necessary from there. As for trying Control D if I want to save a page, I did it that way, and the item was saved on my Quick Access Bar. So it seems to work the same as clicking on the + if you have the Quick Access Bar set up.

That's only to search for the topic, which is what I did that led me here. Where is this QAB you keep talking about? And if really will hold thousands of bookmarks, in an easily accessible manner, then why the hell don't they just have bookmarks, like every browser does? This is so absurd and self-destructive, as it's only going to drive many who wish to use Opera, away....
