Speed Dial on 29 ruins the whole thing

The Speed Dial on my forced upgrade to 29 is awful. It is so ugly it ruins the whole aesthetic appeal of Opera.
Opera used to stand out from the crowd as a classy browser, neat, precise and modern. It looks dreadful now. The horrible boxes are flat, imitating Windows 8, rather badly, and make the themes worthless. A terrible upgrade.
Anybody else agree with this? And what can I do to rid myself of this ghastliness before I abandon Opera altogether? -

Read some of the million other posts on the forum that cover how to do this?

I have and it does not make sense. Don't understand what you are saying. I only see your comments lando242 saying you can put thumb nails in and change it back again. How? I presume you work for Opera. Why is it so awful?

I agree with you on the backward step of the speed dial in Opera 29. Here's how to return to the previous version. Type and enter in Omni-Address box: opera://flags/#experimental-start-page,
choose deactivate, and restart Opera.
And that should do it for you.
