Upgraded from v12.17 1863 (Windows XP Pro SP3)
Where is the Bookmarks pane?
Why cannot I see all my bookmarks in one simple screen without expanding every folder in turn?AND WHERE IS THE PASSWORD WAND TOOL??
I have (supposedly) imported all my folders, settings etc. from Opera v12.x as part of the setting-up sequence.
Nothing works - not even the "choice" of theme - where is the "Opera Classic"?
Guys - this is not a good experience so far - convince me not to uninstall!

You upgraded away form Opera Classic. If you want Opera 12, use Opera 12. Opera 28 is not Opera 12. Its a different peice of software from the ground up.

No. Use what you want to use. If you don't like the new Opera thats fine. It is a different beast with a different target audience.

There isn't one in Opera Blink.
AND WHERE IS THE PASSWORD WAND TOOL??
Username and password will be automatically filled when you go to a login page, if you have saved password for that page.

What happens when you try to change the theme?
where is the "Opera Classic"?
In the same place it was.

Sorry, folks - the upgrade was to 28.0.1750.51
It looks like it is aimed at tablets, smartphones etc, and not for a boring old PC.
To Leocg - I can change the theme to one of the limited pre-loaded versions, but there does not seem to be an option to link to anywhere else for other choices.
I think I will now uninstall it, and wait for v12.(x+n) where x and n are integers.
Thanks for your feedback!

I am wasting a lot of time trying to get an up to date picture of Bookmarks on the latest version 28?
what I want to know is there a proper bookmark system seperate from speed dial capable of handling a lot of bookmarks like we had in V12.17? I have several hundred on different subjects and one alone has over 100 entries which speed dial does not cater for so I stayed with V12 where it was also possible to alter titles to be more meaningful. After V12 it was a disater and best avoided.Do we now have a sensible answer?
Do I stick with V12 or move to something like Vivaldi or is V28 more sensible.
I am on a Windows Desktop PC -

Absolutely. My 600 bookmarks in a dozen different folders is proof of that. I'm using version 30 at the moment, which is a development release but has a few other bells and whistles that wont make it into the sable channel for a while yet. I find bookmarks to be completely usable, if not quite as friendly as they were in 12. Theres a few things that are better than 12 and a few things that are worse. That said, when they got bookmarks to a decent state I jumped ship from Opera 12 and haven't looked book.

Many thanks lando242 for your help.
I did not want to be up the creek without paddles as my total bookmarks must be similar to yours. Its a pity Opera do not make this clear in their features about the update. I have been a user for a great many years but despaired the way things looked after V12 as it was a severe loss of features for my way of operation. I hope the last stable release is as good as what you have in 30 as far as bookmarks are concerned as I do not know when they were reintroduced,
Thanks again.
