pop-ups disabled but still happening

Just started using Opera, have pop-ups blocked '(Don't allow sites to send pop-ups or use redirects') - but am still getting new tabs being trick-loaded (i.e. I click on something on a webpage and an unwanted new tab opens).
Lets assume I have a valid reason for using such a site
Opera also won't let me add the webpages as one 'Not allowed to send pop-ups or use redirects'.

How can I fix this pls?

@Ognik777 You can't, it's been that way since Opera started being based on Chromium or even before that.

It's not easy to block pop-ups that open when you click on a link.

Installing uBlock Origin might help with such sites.

Use an Extension:
Install a third-party extension (such as uBlock Origin) that offers more robust pop-up/tab filtering. These can block unwanted new tabs even if they appear click-triggered.
