Hi. I have used (and still using) Opera 12.17, because i have liked it more than newer Opera versions. I have tried newer versions though, a couple of times, and yesterday i gave 27 a serious try. Still went back to 12.17. I have some questions about 27 :

      • How can i customize tool bars etc?
      • Does 27 empty cache on exit? Does it use RAM or disc cache? Is there an option for that?
      • Is it possible to bring Menu bar back?
      • Is there opera:config for 27? I tried, but couldn't get there.
      • One thing i like about Opera 12 is a customized menu.ini (right click context menu). Can i do such a thing with 27? Possibly with some extension? I have added some search entries to this menu, and those really are must for me.

        You can't.

Does 27 empty cache on exit?

        Nope.

Does it use RAM or disc cache?

Both as all browsers, i guess.

Is there an option for that?

        Not that i know.

Is it possible to bring Menu bar back?

        Nope

There isn't. > One thing i like about Opera 12 is a customized menu.ini (right click context menu). Can i do such a thing with 27? Possibly with some extension? I have added some search entries to this menu, and those really are must for me.

You can add custom seraches and they will appear under "serach with.." menu when right clicking on a highlighted text.

Pretty much No there 🙂 Well, those aren't big issues, i guess.

Still some question: Why so many Opera prosesses running?

Each tab, extension, etc is its own process. That way, if one crashes, it only takes out the one process and not the whole browser. It makes things much more stable.

That's how all Chromium based browsers work. One process for the browser itself, one for each tab, one for each plugin, one for each extension, etc.

                Ok. thank's for the answers!

How much time there's left for Opera 12.17? I know it's a bit outdated browser, but it still works pretty good and it's quite fast (fast enough). Sites still works fine with it. There's problems with Facebook, but i use FF for it.

It's not something easy to answer as it depends on how and how fast the web will change. However here on the forums there are already some reports of Presto having issues with some pages.

Yes, there's definitely problems with some sites, like Gmail and FB. Mostly has do with scripting. Gmail works fine using the older layout. Most sites that i'm using works fine though, and for that reason i stick with 12.17 (x64) for now.

I'm trying to find a setting that will open my 'speedials' in a new tab. As is, they open in the current tab... and there is no right click option to open in a new tab. Surely there is a way to fix this? Thanks for any help someone could give.
