Thanks Leo got new flash player - seemed to be the same one? As it mentioned Opera Downloaded it and installed it

Seems to be less video stutter pauses but still some and the voice does not sync?

      Is that the best available?

You said you only have the npapi one and Opera should download the ppapi version.

I've been noticed some issues with flash player recently. Don't know if it's a plugin issue, an Opera issue or what.

        Is that the best available?

Don't know if the best but it's basically the only one as support for npapi is being dropped by Chromium.

It's the ppapi/pepper one? It looks better if you use the html5 player?

Afaik both npapi and ppapi are in the same version number, or very close at least.

You should be able to get the ppapi version at https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

HTML5 can Youtube use this? if so and its better how do I set it up - looked in youtube and cant find anything?

You need to enable the html5 player at https://www.youtube.com/html5

Note that some videos may not be played in the html5 player.

Adobe currently maintains a NPAPI version of flash and a PPAPI version. They both have the same version number but have to be installed separately. https://forums.opera.com/post/67845 already explains what you have to do to install the right one.

As for HTML5, yes, YouTube has an HTML5 version of the site but you have to change a setting on their site to enable it. I don't know it off the top of my head but its easy enough to google.

Thanks Guys ... checked the links above and think I installed the correct flash player - wot a cock up ... all having the same version number and everything!

Flash player still not good and not sync so I tried out the suggestion above and the link to youtube let me default to html5 ..... this looks a little better ..... speech now seem to sync near enough

Hope this default sticks next time I go in?

Thanks again for all your help on this..... it is much appreciated.... nice to talke to the experts!! 😃

Have you tried disabling hardware acceleration for flash?

For me the youtube sidebar is no longer working after the latest update. I click on the button that makes it show up but nothing happens, only the button changes to its "sidebar visible" state.

Try viewing YouTube in a private window. Does that fix it?

                                  Hi all;
I have a problem viewing some video files from some sides like: u-tube, zalukaj.pl and so on... I have flush player 16 installed but it doesn't seem to work on those sides... is there a problem with new opera???

I think the problem with the side bar on youtube not showing up might be the fact that I am using a laptop and the item size level of windows 8 is set to 125%. This setting is causing many problems in many websites when using opera (doesnt happen with other browsers). This is probably just one more problem to the list.

it doesn't seem to work on those sites

That is not a helpful description of the problem. You will need to give us more information if you want help. Also, have you tried the private window thing I mentioned above?
