I have to type information that starts with single letters by themselves. Not going to give away anyone's personal info so don't ask.

Either way, i just need a way to disable it on this workstation so I don't have to constantly explain that Opera just does this whenever you use certain letters and you have to work around it. Closing the search in quotation marks will slice up the results so bad that it's not usually an option but sometimes works.

Please, i just need to know where in the settings it is enabled so I can turn it off. I don't usually use opera but since I own these computers have to be the one to mess with them. By default it may be a weird choice but I know for a fact no one would make it impossible to turn off.

@JTMRS The answer is still no, it can not be disabled.

You can try using quotes do avoid triggering the search engine or you can start all your searches with g or the letter of the search engine you have as default one.

Do you have a list or anything? like distinguishing between Yahoo and Yandex? or dogpile and duckduckgo?

or even just all the ones that are installed in the browser by default?

also I never asked a question on this site before so I don't see a reason for you to be as mean as you are about this?

Actually.... I don't think I want to do any work with opera at this point... Something is really wrong about the way this is being handled. It's very clear that whoever this site has doing this work for them is taking other people's questions personally and letting that bleed into user's who actually need help.

I had no clue that Opera was run like this. That's what I get for listening to a youtuber about browser features.

@JTMRS You can check in settings page what are the keys that trigger the different search engines.

I know that w followed by a space will trigger Wikipedia, z trigger Amazon, etc.
