Recovering downloads

Recently upgraded PC to an all in one struggling with newness and I believe I inadvertently deleted a down load (for word) and now I am unable (as from begging) to open my documents etc , Is there any way to retrieve downlloads?

@sammysmum I don't think there's a way to make a file removed from the download list to return to that list.
