I had Opera 99 installed and had edited everything to prevent it from Updating. Now that I have updated it and I go to the about setting it still shows :"Update checker is disabled" - how do I fix that so updates will go forward?

      Thanks

@hassana12 I think it will be easier just to follow the Opera Blog and see when an update has been released...then I can choose if I want to do the update myself by downloading the new Opera from the FTP site

Uninstall and reinstall Opera this way. That should fix it.

If you edited the HOSTS file to block Opera's update servers, you'll have to revert that too. Same if you modified any shortcuts or added any environment variables etc.

@burnout426 Hi Burnout, I think it's funny how kind of complicated it is to get Opera One to start updating automatically (my opinion) in light of how much trouble folks had in just getting it to stop the auto-update. I think I will just leave the update disabled and do it manually each time a new version is released (if I want to or not).

              Thanks
