adding a search engine

In settings, under Search engines, and choosing the search engine to use, how can you add another engine and edit it to work.

@1cherokee79 You can't edit the pre-defined search engines.
To add a custom search engine, click on Add and fill the fields. You can also right click on a search field in a page and choose Create Search Engine.

I did that, add a search engine. But the key is, like the ones that came with Opera.
Ok, make the story short. I went to google search, and search for fans, I highlighted the word fans and right and went down to Search With and searched for fans in Amazon search engine and it took me to the page showing the fans.
But Since i added Newegg to the search engine and highlighted the word fans and right-click and went down to search with, i searched for fans at Newegg and didn't take me nowhere just to the main page.I went to setting to edit site search and it shows
URL with %s in place of query, what is that
