What is Hacker view?

I've been using Opera GX for a while now, but I'm just now getting to look over the features and customize it for my own needs. I have it exactly how I want it, except for one thing. I cannot figure out what the Hacker view is for. I've looked here and I've done a few Google searches, but nothing is coming up. Does it actually do anything?

@andreavpowell Hacker view is a widget on the far right of the Speed dial page. It expands slightly when you hover it, and contains the local weather (if you set your location), a couple of GX related links, and a few slots that can be ser to your oen links. Along with a falling characyer effect reminivcent of the Matrix movies.
