I'm getting desperate. I simply want to log into my Opera account on my Samsung A8 Tablet.
But everytime I type in my e-mail-address and click enter, I'm shown a captcha. After completing it, I won't be directed to my account, but there's a message underneath "something went wrong".
I've tried it with a new account, making a new install on my tablet. But it didn't change anything. I even turned VPN on. But it didn't let my log in.
Is this a general problem at the moment?

Should I mention, that I've set up 2FA?

@thecelticcross I don't even remember having to do a captcha do access my account.
Usually it asks for email, password and, since I have it enabled, 2FA code.

@leocg It's only, resp. mostly on my Android, irrespective of which browser I use btw.
On Mac it's no problem either.

It's still there, so it keeps me from using Opera as my default browser. Anyway, thank you for engaging.

I'm still experiencing this issue. I can log into my account with any other device. Sometimes directly, sometimes after having to click through a captcha.
But on Android I'm always shown a captcha, but even if I click it correctly, there will be a message like: "Something has gone wrong".
If weren't for using Aria, I could live with it. But that's disturbing.

I still can't connect to my Opera account on my Samsung A8. As you see, I made a new profile, I even reseted my tablet.

But neither connecting with QR-code nor trying to log in does work actually.
QR-code leads me to my own synchronization settings on Desktop. And when trying to log in, I'm shown re-captchas again and again, until finally a message appears beneath my e-mail-address, telling me: "something has gone wrong - try again" And so this vicious circle starts again.

A miracle has occured: This morning it finally worked, even no re-captcha! I couldn't be happier.

Same problem here with a new Samsung A9. I enter my email address then I get ask to complete a reCaptcha which finally ends with "An error occurred. Please try again".

It's so frustrating. There has to be a better way.

@t3owner I‘m now here with my third new profile, just for that particular reason. Because after I logged out as „DerHimmelssheriff“ I couldn‘t get back into my account. After frustrating trials and retrials I made a last attempt with a new e-mail-address, as I really wanted to use Opera especially because of Aria.
Finally I was allowed to make a new account on my Samsung. I‘m not going to log out anytime soon I swear.
I‘ve got definitely no problems to log into my account with Opera on any other device, it‘s only on Android. And which is even more funny, it‘s possible to log in with Chrome or Vivaldi on the Samsung, but not with Opera. It‘s a kind of ridicules, isn’t it? They should address this issue soon.

@t3owner There seems to be data from the first installation of Opera somewhere on Android devices that won‘t be deleted by clearing data and/or cache. Maybe they are even stored in the cloud as in your case.
Try the following, it worked for me today: Deinstall Opera and simply reinstall it. But before starting it again, simply disconnect from every network, so that Opera only fetches data from the device. (For me appeared a Speed Dial from a former setup).
Then go to „auth.opera.com“ which will not load of course. Then connect to your internet and type in your credentials. Pass the captcha if it appears again, it should work after the second trial.

I suppose there‘s a conflict, as Opera‘s somehow assuming that you‘re already logged in.
P.S. It seems to be quite more difficult, if you have changed your Opera account (or even deleted it). You should go by the credentials that worked last time.

If someone would know where this „hidden data“ may be stored, she or he might be very welcome.

Maybe it’s not even Opera‘s fault anyway, as this post may affirm: https://www.reddit.com/r/browsers/comments/1bpzxqz/google_is_making_recaptcha_for_firefox_unusable/
Nevertheless Opera should have a look at it.
