Old vs. New Speed Dial Background Issue Revisited

Is that light gradient effect at the top of the Old Start Page's Speed Dial Background going to be fixed? I said before and I'll say it again ... it really bites. It destroys the look of any image one uses for a background.
Or is the Old Start Page's days numbered anyway?

It's fixed in the developer branch on Linux, using the old speed dial.

Hopefully that's a good sign of things to come, Linuxmint. Hopefully it's fixed in Opera 27.
Sidneyneto, the background has always displayed correctly on the New Start Page. It's only on the old, original Start Page that the background gets washed out at the top.

Oh, that it's by design is no doubt. The thing is ... it's horrible.
It reminds me of the "NEW & Improved" CCleaner 5.00 GUI ... something that definitely should NOT have taken place.

Well, as i said, SD is (or seems to be at least) a work in progress so things may change.
