I use an extension (V7 Stash) that is no longer in the play store. I'd like to install Opera with a new profile but I don't want to lose this extension which is working fine. Is there a way to save this extension from my current profile and put it in the new profile?

@leocg Copy out the folder for V7 stash in AppData/Roaming/Opera Software/Default/Extensions and paste that into the new profile? Hope it's that easy. Thanks. (think I'll back up first though)

It turns out that extension folders copied into Extensions are not recognized by Opera unless I am making some mistake. Sounded too good to be true.

Place the extension folder on your desktop instead. Then, in Opera, goto the URL
opera://extensions
, turn on developer mode, click "load unpacked" and point it to the version folder in the extension folder on your desktop where manifest.json is.Before doing that though, edit manifest.json and remove the "key:"value" entry and the "update_url":"value" entry. Make sure to also remove the commas separating them from the other entries too.

Thanks burnout. Actually what I am trying to do is get rid of the .opera folders that keeps showing up in downloads. Once upon a time you told me to install to Program Files instead of appdata and that worked. But now the installer won't allow installing to anything but appdata/local/programs. Is there a way now to get rid of those annoying .opera folders that keep popping up? -

@orshee I would close Opera and delete everything in "C:\windows\temp" and "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\temp". There are installer temp files there that might need to be cleared.
