Hi,
is there a way to install an independent version of Opera 25.
In terms of, that I have 2 possible instances of Opera, the one I am using right now, and a separate one that I use without any influence to and from the other installed Opera.I won't run both instances of Opera at the same time.
Maybe see it as a way to test out new versions before I update my running OperaThanks in advance for the help

Just get a portable version, like Opera@USB. The download is version 22 but you can update it easily enough to the current release.

Why would someone want to download a third-party hack of a commercial product when the official installer achieves exactly the same thing ?.

Run the installer and choose standalone installation.
ahh ok, if this really prevents the issue that both Opera versions try to write on the same folders (that is shared or system things) than my issue is solved.
BUT, what if not?
Is Opera smart enough to see, "hey my normally folders and path and registry things are already in use. Leave them alone and make me separate ones"?!@linuxmint,
well I used a portable version of the 9 Version years ago in university as it was not possible to install any kind of program. -

It does prevents the shring of profiles as each standalone install uses its own profile folder inside its install folder and not the one at %appdata%.

ok, have the installer running here. But I do not see any option to choose "standalone"

So I am still at fear that it will interfere with my other Opera installation.

hoorayBtw, the English UI is way more clear on that "stand-alone" topic, compared to the German version
