Rumor has it Microsoft wants to buy Opera and finish it off for good. Usually the first thing Microsoft does is destroying a company so it can be bought for less much money. Google for Microsoft Touch of Death.
Is this the reason Opera Mobile is getting behind more and more? So Microsoft can buy and kill Opera?
This is not the first time Microsoft wants to destroy a browser company.

Rumours surfaced on Friday morning that Microsoft is close to completing a takeover offer for the Norwegian browser vendor, having outbid Google."Our phones have been ringing off the hook," said a spokesman for Opera. "But it's not true. We have not been bought, and we have not received any offers. It's just a rumour, like the Google rumour last week."
If Microsoft were to buy Opera it would effectively reduce the battle for browsers on Windows PCs to two contenders: Microsoft and the Mozilla Foundation.

Have you read the date the initial post/topic/report (<-- Lol) was posted ?.
December 23rd 2005, yes 2005!!!
I hardly think there is much to be worried about, as it has clearly gone way past it's sell-by date.
Move along, move along, nothing to see here.

:faint: would someone please close this topic? Better yet, delete it.
Better yet, add the year the message was posted at the end of the date. (It says 'January 29' but doesn't mention the year. So it's easy to think it was posted this year)

if you look at microsoft's share prices, you'd know they don't have the money to waste on such a silly business venture.
