Starting this morning, Zemana is popping up a warning box that Opera is wanting to connect to my webcam. This is the first time this has happened. When I click Block, Opera closes.

Can this action be triggered by an email?

        Post your specs:

        1. Opera version,
        2. OS exactly,
        3. status of your antimalware protection,
        4. plug-ins installed (apart from checking opera://plugins you might consider looking into the list of running processes in your Task Manager).

What other browsers do you have installed?
Do you do something noticeable each time to trigger that "camera request"? What does it look like (did you use your camera before somehow?)?

Websites can ask to access your webcam (and microphone), but Opera should then ask you ... there's a setting under Settings > Websites related to this - check that. Also see what websites are open.

              What is Zemana?

When I click Block, Opera closes.

              Always?

                  Asecurity?

                  Well, he says

Malware protection is Zemana, Malwarebytes, MS Security essentials, Private Firewall

so either it's a whole lot of different defenders - or if some are similar, then a potential trouble can arise...:sherlock:

In any case, I pointed that out to remind the guys that the prompt comes from another application than Opera (and that he says Opera closes, so...).

The setting is: Do not allow sites to access my camera and microphone.

This may be connected to the last update to Opera. I did not have my email up tonight and still got the popup from Zemana. So it's not tied just to email.

As I stated before, Opera will close if I click to block the request, but I've discovered if I create a rule to always block the action, then Opera will not open at all.

Have you allowed Flash to access your camera? Is there any Flash on that page? That could also do it ...
