Since the new version "Opera One" I can´t close tabs using a touchscreen by clicking the "x", because the "x" isn´t available.

@anderle2000 The X should show up when you put the cursor over the tab.

@leocg Yes, I know. I'm using Opera with mouse, but my mother is using laptop exclusively by touchscreen. She is pensioner and watches often Youtube Videos. I taught her how to close tabs with the "x". But there is no "x" anymore. By the way my mother had a stroke and isn´t available to use her right hand with a mouse, but she can handle a touchscreen with her left hand.

@anderle2000 Seems an issue then, report it at https://opera.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/9 so that someone at Opera can take a look.

THIS.
We need the X to close tabs back. There are some Surface devices users out there ! For now, in tablet mode, there is no other way to close a tab than long press on the tab (like a right click), then select close tab in the context menu... Microsoft is working hard to make its Edge browser tablet friendly... Don't let your users switch because of this omission ! That's a deal breaker. -

Found a somewhat temporary solution. The extension "tab to window" creates a button on the top right when pinned. By touching it, it pops the tab out to a window and then you can close the window. Still have to do an extra touch, but it’s a bit faster than a long touch to bring up the menu and avoids accidently touching close all. I was bringing up the touch keyboard and using Ctrl+W to avoid accidently touching close all, but that was just as slow as a long touch and it was still a lot of extra unnecessary touches.

@mattbaj Thanks for the tip, but I still wait for a viable solution from an update. Meanwhile, I gave another chance to Firefox, but finally moved to Edge which is actually pretty neat !
