@localnlive It hasn't changed and, most probably, won't.
The browser not closing when the last tab is closed is one of the most liked features. -

@leocg Really?
That's weird. Very very weird!
Shame they can't give us a choice though. Can't image it would take a million lines of code.

@localnlive It does so, when I'm on my MacBook. I'd rather like it the Windows way, actually, i.e. keeping one tab open even after closing the last one. I've run too often in the problem of closing the last tab and thereby closing the whole app. which isn't what I want.
But choice would be great. Actually, I don't remember from Vivaldi how it's handled there. But Vivaldi is the king of choices. -

This is definitely something that recently changed. Since a long time, I've just ctrl+W'ed multiple tabs when I have a window with many tabs that I don't want to use anymore. But since a recent update, the last one always remains there open and it's really annoying (it's there even a good keyboard shortcut to close the whole window?)

Ctrl+W closes any additional windows here.
For primary, you can use Alt+F4.
101.0.4843.43 on Win10. Light theme.

@vegelund Actually I just realized that this is something that's happening only on Opera Beta
Opera One (version: 102.0.4880.10)
Update stream: beta
System: Windows 10 64-bit
Chromium version:116.0.5845.62But Ctrl+W (or clicking the tab's [x]) doesn't close the window, but it leaves a tab with the Speed Dial (even if it's an additional window and not the last one).
Is that unexpected on the Beta branch, or will that behavior change for everyone in the next stable version?

@vegelund I've never used pinned tabs. If I just open a new window and try to close that tab immediately, it won't close.

@elabar I don't think it was ever fixed! If it was, that must have been on the day I didn't need it!

I think it is indeed solved in version 103, like mentioned above (Currently in Opera Beta). The problem is that version 102 (With the bug) was still released as a stable version

I want Opera to close when I close the last tab...kind of makes sense if you think about it.
Please make this a setting.
Thank you!
It worked this way for ever...then, all of a sudden it stopped working...then, all of a sudden it started working again...but, after re-installing Opera (it was really acting wonky, stopped loading pages, Opera was very unhappy)...Opera no longer closes upon closing the last tab. Annoying...just make it a setting. please!!

@pedrovision You can make a suggestion in the proper area or, even better, join one of the topics asking for it

Enter settings, find the gx corner using the ctrl f, there is a setting that sets it to the sidebar, enable that.

@localnlive Make sure "GX Corner in sideBar" Is on. Then when you close the last tab it will close the browser, hope this helps.
You're welcome,
Ganja

@ganjavybz
Thanks for that, but I can't find any way to make that happen - why would it work, anyway?
