I have installed the lastest Opera One(version: 105.0.4970.16).
And on its actionbar, it's got some buttons, I will never use, I think. I would prefer, if I can have some personal bookmarks there, namely 1) Bank button, 2) Google map, 3) Amazon and 4) Youtube. They are sort of required by government, also youtube because you must check their news - though it could be better channel, since one has to search in all their garbage to find relevant news like covid.
Feedback: I don't quite follow, what 'opera' is. Some jerk might explain it in comment hereafter, but it's the product that should tell it!
Yes, I can't tell either what 'firefox' or 'chrome' mean, but is this your explanation?? -

I've been using Opera for many, many years, but with each "update" it gets worse, heavier and heavier, consuming more memory and processing and less efficient. In my opinion, the development team works hard to make it worse than the previous version. previous. The "improvements" actually ruin the browser, the concern with efficiency, lightness, low consumption and usability is almost nil, for years the configuration page is one of the undeniable examples of this, because every time you access a configuration subframe as per example the sub-configuration of the sidebar and you click on return to continue configuring the other options it does not return to where you were, but to the top of the configuration page and does this in all sub-options causing the user an unnecessary waste of time and irritating.
Account synchronization in the browser is equally inefficient, as it does not recover the user's full settings, making the synchronization service a real joke, as its reason for existing "synchronize user data" is not fulfilled, as after losing an entire time configuring, creating an account to supposedly synchronize your configuration work, is ineffectively null, because right after synchronizing, what you disabled in the previous configuration is there, enabled and disrespecting your right not to use it, it is as if the developer was saying that he doesn't respect you, that what you as a user want doesn't matter to him, nor to the development team. Whether or not these statements of mine will be taken into account by the Opera team I don't know, what I do know is that there seems to be no one concerned with what the user needs and that there is no team or team that controls "Quality" of this browser, which I am no longer recommending to my clients for the same reasons above. -

@ssi-marcelo I haven't noticed any slowdown on my side, actually. Opera is running smooth, when Firefox, e.g., makes my fans roar on my work laptop.
And it's very snappy on my MacBook Air, too. I don't think there's much difference to the pre-One time. -

Dear colleague,
Memory consumption, instability and crashes are happening after synchronization and are not as relevant as design flaws in the settings and in the synchronization of browser data and settings itself, this is the biggest problem and which apparently never had the development attention, as it was very inefficient. -

@ssi-marcelo If I understand you correctly, you bother with Opera's synchronization.
Well, I agree, at least partly. Sync with iOS would be great. But I speaking only for myself actually like how Opera is synced. I don't want the same Speed Dial on every single device, I rather appreciate how they are kept separate, thus having different speed dials on my work and my private laptops.
But maybe that's not, what you're talking about, I'm afraid. Nevertheless, there's so much browser choice nowadays that you should feel free to opt for another one which gives you more of what YOU want.
So, happy Christmas! -

I am using version 106.0.4998.41, and I noticed this one uses less RAM than previous version. Keep your work to improve the performance and efficiently in future versions!

I am so sorry, I had tried briefly Opera in the past on several occasions and was enthusiastic. I looked further into features proposed etc., and decided to move to Opera since I wasn't satisfied by either Chrome or Firefox. Three weekd after moving in, there has been so many issues, so many simple fixes that don't exist, that I have taken the decision to leave Opera and strongly recommend against it to anybody. Synch don't work. My history regularly disappears. Settings are ultra limited. Advertisments everywhere... And stuff like the "x" button to close tabs, that people have been asking for the option to move it from the left side to the right side for decades, and nobody has provided this feature. This is utterly deceiving and there are just so many problems that I found discussed at length for years in this help forum, to reach the conclusion that there is no solution… but also that no Opera team is attentive at all to these complaints and to user satisfaction in any sense, it seems. Now, I'm trying to leave and I find (agaaain) that basic features in other browsers, like exporting the browsing history, just do not exist here. Again, simple fixes that have not been done, IMHO unacceptable when dozens of people ask for the same thing over many years.
This is a traume, TBH. Best of luck for those of you who stay here. Using Opera for three weeks has even convinced me to mentally place it alongside "Internet Explorer" as the browsers from hell. THis is the exact opposite of the view I had of Opera before. I lose so many hours, so many data, so many nerves in 3 weeks… Unforgivable. Now that I am filling this, I realize there is also a bug on this very page. There are fields hidden at the bottom that I can not scroll down to access… W-O-W. It's be quicker to list Opera's features that work than listing those with bugs or problems.
Tried to submit this, and I got "error"… (what error, IDK, but I can't even post this (what will be the next surprise? Will opera explode when I uninstall it?))

going to stop raging about the fact that 80% of the interface works about 50% of the time. don't have any real faith left in the development team anymore. cheers on your broken browser. maybe if you guys spent about 5 minutes more on actually working on your browser instead of censoring crriticism on your forum, maybe we'd have a working browser

Hi All,
I want to say thank you in advance for any and all assistance that you're able to provide me. I'm on a M1 Max 16 inch MBP running the latest version of MacOS Sonoma and using Opera as my default browser. The first issue I'm having is that every time I open Opera it pops up wanting me to synchronize the bookmarks, passwords, etc even though I already am logged into the browser with my Opera account and I already have it enabled to synch everything that I need it to synch. Is there any way to keep this from popping up? It's really getting annoying to me. My second issue has to do with how the browser window opens. The browser opens with maybe an inch of the top of the browser window showing above the dock on the bottom of the screen. I have to click and drag it up in order to maximize the window to the point to where it is usable for me. Is there any way to fix this please?

I'm going to stop using opera, because I'm losing control over basig features, and can't find anything in the help search,
For example I can't see the scroll bar any more, it's too narrow and I can't find out how to fix it - scroll bar does not appear in the general settings, and the help search provides no results.
I have to create a personal account and consent to my data being collected in order to ask a question or provide feedback.
The developers of Opera have disappeared behind an unnavigable mess.
It's too complicated, too many features, too hard to find out how to get back to a basic clean interface.
I started using Opera because I found it more simple and intuitive to use than other browsers. Not any more.

Please, Opera Browser, stop your campaign to try and become my default browser! It's not going to happen, and it's just very annoying! (just like that captcha I just had to complete)

Can no longer put up with the intrusive, invasive, indiscrete and just downright annoying blaring trumpet fanfare just because Opera has done nothing more than should be expected, that is providing a program update.
And the sloppy programming practice of creating a new version folder for each update makes for an bloated untidy Program Files/Opera sub-folder structure.
Enough is enough.

Opera Developer has gotten rid of launcher.exe (if you do a fresh install) and has opera.exe in root of the install folder now so that the path to opera.exe (used for various things) never changes. That's a little improvement at least. Also, in the future, Opera might make it so there's always only one version folder to keep things tidy. Would definitely be nice.

@leocg tried Brave on the test site and got these results;
Our tests indicate that you have strong protection against Web tracking. Is Your Browser:
Blocking tracking ads? Yes
Blocking invisible trackers? Yes
Protecting you from fingerprinting? ◕ your browser has a randomized fingerprint -

@leocg Generally I'm pretty impressed with Opera One on macOS 14.4.1. Its worlds away, as I guess we should expect, from the first time I tried it back in 2017.
Unfortunately it will still need to go a little further with security features as it currently does not block "fingerprinting" as some others like Brave browser does.
In all other respects I'm liking it more and more.
The Aria AI is cool, I was surprised when I highlighted some text in Indonesian to get a popup notification offering to translate to English by Aria amongst other options like "look up" and more.
Basically it's easy to setup and use and easy on the eye.
It's system resource use is fairly low although not as low as some.
I would consider it as a default browser if the fingerprinting issue was addressed in Security and Privacy settings. -

I found a few big cons in Opera for me, this was the reason, why I deinstalled it:
- Can't clear browsing data on exit.
- Can't create apps for websites like in edge.
- Browser doesn't close when the last tab is closed, and there is no option for it.
- Lack of customizability. (Like move around objects everywhere and change anything how you like it)
- Too round interface.
What I found good (in comparison to Edge): - Not mandatory synchronization.
- No edge's red dot of doom.
- Flow.
- Free VPN, but it would be good if we had a button for it on the search bar or side bar.
Though your browser is better than edge on android, I didn't find any big cons, so I still stay with opera on my phone.
