password auto populating in full view

I use Opera on Windows and Linux on separate machines.
Lately when I go to my 401k provider the login auto populates my user name and password but the password is not hidden any longer. It is in full view of anyone that can see it.
This never happened before and is happening on two separate computers, one running Windows and one running Linux.
Is there a way to stop this? -

Yes, there is a way to stop this from happening. The issue you are experiencing is likely due to a setting in the Opera web browser that is allowing your password to be displayed in plain text. Here's how you can fix this:Open the Opera web browser on the machine where you are experiencing the issue.
Click on the three dots in the upper right-hand corner of the browser window to open the settings menu.
From the settings menu, select "Settings" and then click on "Advanced" in the left-hand menu.
Scroll down to the "Privacy & security" section and click on "Passwords."
Look for the option that says "Offer to save passwords" and toggle it off.
Next, look for the option that says "Auto-fill saved passwords" and toggle it off as well.
Finally, make sure the option that says "Show passwords" is also toggled off.
Once you have made these changes, your password should no longer be displayed in plain text when you log in to your 401k provider. If you want Opera to remember your password for future logins, you can manually enter it and save it when prompted, but it will be hidden from view for security purposes.
