Mute for tab not working

Same problem here.
What I found out is that the mute button seems to work but mutes wrong tabs. Might also be trying to mute non existing tabs as sometimes I can’t find one that is muted.
The problem seems to occur mostly while using several workspaces. I also had the problem between tabs in a single workspace but couldn’t replicate it.
Replicating the problem between workspaces is easy. I just open tabs in workspace 1 and in workspace 2. While I can mute the tabs in workspace 1 the tabs in workspace 2 either mute a tab in workspace 1 or no tab at all.System:
Opera GX LVL4 (core: 98.0.4759.56)
Update stream: Early Access
System: Windows 11 64-bit
Chromium version: 112.0.5615.165Windows 11 Pro 22H2 (22621.1702)

It's possible that there might be a bug or a recent update that caused the tab muting functionality to stop working in your browser. In addition to enabling the "Tab audio muting UI control" option in opera://flags, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:
Clear browser cache: Clearing the cache and browser data can help resolve any temporary glitches that may be affecting the tab muting feature.
Disable conflicting extensions: Temporarily disable any extensions or plugins that might be interfering with the tab muting functionality.
Update your browser: Ensure that your Opera browser is up to date with the latest version. Updates often include bug fixes and improvements that can address such issues.
Reset browser settings: As a last resort, you can try resetting your browser settings to their default values. This will revert any custom settings and potentially fix any misconfigurations that may be causing the problem.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be worth reaching out to Opera's support team or community forums to see if there are any known issues or specific solutions related to the tab muting problem you're experiencing.

Tried all of this .. nothing worked .. only thing that worked was to "unpin" all tabs.
And then the mute button started working on all windows just fine. -

Lets hope they fix it in version 99. They allowed to hide big red warning in Developer Tools so there is a chance they read this forum

Currently, on v99.0.4788.13, the issue still persists for me no matter the flag settings mentioned above or any workspaces.
Although I did notice if you right-click on the tab and select the "Mute tab" option then that works but clicking the sound icon itself on the same tab does nothing, just wanted to mention it here in case it helps. -

Maybe solution? (idk, that was my case)
So, if you have that problem and pinned tabs, go to pinned tab #8 unmute/mute button - works
next
I Try go to 9 works, but Changing tab to #10+ dont and if you go back to #9 mute button again is broken
but pinned 1-8 are working
non pinned tabs are still broken so... (that sucks)
And that works only whit "workspace" #1 (idk why)I hope I helped you(Opera) find a solution/cause of this bug

They will never fix it, neither will sync errors (duplicate records every time the browser is shut down). it's not a bug, it's the future.

I realize that if you have example like me, pined tabs ( my 12 tabs) and one open like twitch > the open one, mute not working. You can go to pined tabs, start play and will mute no problem.
Then I Add twitch tab to pined, and I could mute with no problem at all.Opera Devs it's time to start to figure out what's going on what's make that issue and fix.

State of the issue at my side:
At workspace 2 pinned tab can be switched to mute by click on loutspeaker symbol, if the tab is located between postion 1 and 9.
For position 10, it is only working for 50%.
For all postions higher 10, it is not working!!Hello Opera-Team, are you aware of that issue?
