Opera 95, win 11: scrollbars are almost invisible. Is this a Windows thing or is it Opera's problem?

@brigittedoris none of those, it's basically how they are designed nowadays.

Anyway, do you have a screenshot of the issue? And what about a couple of examples where the scroll bar is not well visible?

@leocg Well, I should rephrase my post, sorry. The scrollbar Is visible, it's the part that one puts the pointer on to scroll that is almost invisible. Gray on Gray.

@brigittedoris Not sure if I got it. If you can see the scroll bar, you can see where to put the mouse pointer.

@leocg The scrollbar is a light gray, the part that one puts the pointer on is a tiny bit of a darker gray, almost undistinguishable!

Looks like there is no solution unless Opera does something with the vertical scroll bar to make it more visible.

@brigittedoris It shouldn't be that different from other Chromium based browsers.

I don't use other browsers, stuck with Opera since the late '90s when I had to pay to remove ads.

@brigittedoris But you understand that Opera is a Chromium based browser and that checking if the issue happens in other Chromium based browsers are the best and correct way to see if it's an Opera problem or just something from Chromium, right?

@leocg OK, I checked with Edge and it's pretty much the same. I guess my original question has been answered.
I still think that Opera could do something about it.
                        Thanks a lot.

@brigittedoris The standard scrollbar style is a grey bar on a light grey track in Win10. In Win11 the bar is even smaller by default. Since most sites are light coloured, there's low contrast from the site to the bar, which can be hard to discern if Opera is not at the edge of the screen. In addition, some sites may use custom CSS (website style) to change or recolour the scrollbar.

A couple of things you can try is:

                          • Enforce a different style in your browser. E.g. dark style will make the website's main colour dark, while the bar remains light. Windows theme changes can also carry over.
                          • Use an addon/extension that changes the style and colour of the scrollbar.

I have set the dark style but the scrollbar stays light grey. I did not know about the scrollbar addon/extension. Have to find one. Thanks.

@brigittedoris Downloaded an extension and it works fine now. Thanks a lot, guys.
