For some time now I have noticed that after the update, Opera was entered in the windows program several times instead of once as usual. Namely, after each recent version number update, Opera appears once in the program directory. Manuel I tried leaving the current version there and deleting the old versions and the entries, unfortunately the most recent ones are deleted but the old versions remain stubbornly there. Only when I delete the current versions can I delete the old versions, which means that I already lose all my data etc. This problem started from about version 93 or 94. I found two PC's both had the same problem so the problem is with Opera Browser. I would like to ask you to fix this annoying problem immediately and thank you in advance. I've been using Opera browser since 2007 and never experienced such a problem!

I think you might just have to do some cleanup.

Download the Opera installer so you have it. Then, close Opera.

Delete everything in "C:\Windows\temp" and "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\temp".

Uninstall Opera. It won't delete your data in "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera Stable" unless you tell it to. But, you can copy that "Opera Stable" folder to a safe place if you're still worried.

Delete the install folder if it remains. As in, delete any Opera folders in "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Programs", "C:\Program Files", and "C:\Program Files (x86)".

Delete any Opera shorcuts on the taskbar, start menu, and desktop that remain.

Open up the Windows Task Scheduler and delete any Opera entries in the task scheduler library.

Open up regedit and delete any Opera subkeys in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall" and "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall" to remove Opera from the Installed Apps list in Windows.

Then, delete the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Opera Software" key.

Then, launch the Opera installer, click "options", make the the path, install type, and all other settings are how you want them. You'll definitely want to disabling importing of bookmarks from the default browser. Then, install.

That should get things all straightened up. Then, when Opera updates next time, hopefully it won't mess anything up. Note though that Opera keeps around a few version folders in the install folder though. That's normal. But, you can delete the older version folders whenever you want without problem.

If you want a more-thorough cleanup, see this post.

@burnout426 Thank you for your nice reply. Although this advice is not intended for the cause of the problem but for the elimination of the error afterwards. Next time I have the same problem, I will follow your advice and carry out your instructions. The problem, however, lies without a doubt on the side of the Opera browser! I hope in the future this inconvenience will not happen again and this bug will be fixed by Opera!
