Can Bookmark Bar appears only in new tabs?

Is there a way to get the bookmark bar to behave similarly to how it behaves on Chrome? When you hide the bookmark bar, it still appears when you open new tabs, so it doesn't bother you on some websites, but is there when you want to open a new tab and search something.
