Hello. I had to reinstall my MacOS (on Ventura now), but could not use the Migration Assistant so I had to manually bring over much. The Opera browser installed but the Bookmarks are missing.
I have my backup on an external disk, using Time Machine, but I cannot find where the bookmarks are so I can import them.
Once I find them what is the process for restoring them?
      Thanks in advance.

@tonyfv None of the several posts about it helped?

As said many times, the bookmarks are stored in the Bookmarks file, located in your Opera's profile directory.

Copying the one from the backup and pasting it in the current profile directory should be enough

@leocg Thanks. The problem with many of the posts was that they referred to the Opera Profile but did not say where to find it.
I've spent hours trying to answer my question without bothering others, but I gave up.
My bad, I knew that that's where they were already. I should have asked instead where to find the bookmark file in Opera profile directory. From your reply, I finally found the "Opera's profile directory" page under the Opera>About Opera menu.
But I copy the paths shown (profile and cache) and no results come up on any disk I search, internal and my external backup disk. I even tried searching just the last segment of the path, com.operasoftware.opera, and nothing is found. Apparently I don't have the right path or filenames, or somehow the old bookmarks have disappeared, even from my backups.
I just spent 1.25 hrs on the phone with Apple Support and they could not find those paths either. They suggested I get back to you. I bet it's going to be an easy fix and I am going to slap my forehead when I find out.
I appreciate your volunteer help. I've loved my Opera browser for years and that there is a community that supports it.

@tonyfv Don't know about Mac but on Windows the profile directory usually is under a hidden user directory and you need to change some settings in the file explorer to be able to see it. maybe on Mac you need to do the same?

@leocg Thanks again. Yes, there are hidden folders that we looked at and could not find it. This was with 2nd tier Apple Support staff. Hopefully there is a Mac user that can help out with this question so I can slap my forehead sooner 😉

@tonyfv You can try check the path for the profile directory in opera://about. If the backup keeps the directory structure, the Bookmarks file is at a similar directory.

@leocg I had tried both paths shown on the about page and neither worked 😞
