At the URL
opera://extensions
, disable your extensions one by one to see if one is causing the issue. -

@bingboingbummtschak So you left click on any link and it opens in a new window?

Could be a stuck shift key on your keyboard. But, you'd notice that when typing.
You could check your mouse settings to make sure the left button is just a normal left click on not something else. Even if other browsers work fine, I'd check that.
You could goto the URL
opera://settings/shortcuts
and disable mouse gestures to see if it goes away. But, the "open link in window" gesture requires the shift key to be held down, so that's probably not it.Regular Opera or Opera GX or Opera Crypto?
Windows or Mac or Linux?

@bingboingbummtschak said in Links open in a new window - not tab:
any link
when I click on it a new window appears with the linkSo, at https://example.com/, if you left-click on the "more information", it opens https://www.iana.org/domains/reserved in a new window?
(Sorry to ask again, but want to make sure as this seems really odd.)

@bingboingbummtschak Just to be sure, I assume you want to the URL
opera://extensions
and checked that you have no extensions installed? -

Try in a test standalone installation. Does it happen there too?

@bingboingbummtschak Okay. Example page and link that triggers it?
