Passwords messed up

@burnout426 thanks for your reply!
Exporting the passwords, in this case, does not make much sense, as they're all messed up there as well! -

and there is no option to delete all passwords at once, with over 400 passwords i would sit there in front of my computer for ages XD

@xpatze85x Yeah, you'd have to fix them. But, with 400 or so, that's a lot to fix. Might be your only chance. That's assuming passwords are in tact but just in the wrong entries etc. If everything is corrupted, you're probably out of luck.

@xpatze85x To delete all passwords, goto the URL
opera://about
, take note of the "profile" path, close Opera, and delete the "Login Data" file in the profile folder. While logged into sync, I forget if doing that triggers Sync into thinking you deleted them all where it then deletes them all on the server and also in your other Operas, or if the passwords (messed-up ones in this case if they're messed-up on the server too) sync right back to the new Login Data file from the server. So, be careful if you're trying to keep the messed-up login info for now.

You could make a test standalone installation, log into Sync and choose to sync passwords to see what that Opera pulls in. If the login data is still in tact on the server, you might get everything correct in that Opera where you can then export.
Doing things that way shouldn't affect other Operas, but with Sync, you never know. There could be a bug in Sync where it sees that there's no stored Login Data and syncs the wrong way wiping out Login data on Sync server and in all your other Operas. Sync can be really funky and buggy. But, you can try with that warning in mind.
If that works out, and you still want to use Sync, I suggest starting with a new profile (wipe out all data on mobile Operas too) and reset your passphrase at https://www.sync.opera.com/ to start with fresh server data. Only want to get rid of any corruption on the server.

@burnout426 unfortunately it did not work ... the passwords seem to have been changed on the server as well
now i've noticed another thing
only passwords on websites, where i've got more than 1 account were changed and are now all the same (f.ex gmail and on facebook as i've got a private profile and one i only use for business contacts)

Hello
I have the same problem, I click on passwords, it tells me to confirm identity, filled up with the required info, click Next , nothing happens, so I signed out, now can't sign in, also problem with Recaptcha not displaying, what a mess, sent email to support, not heard back.
Had to resort to using another browser with no bugs, but can't access sign in.
If anyone has a solution please post as it is getting ridiculous. No autofill nothing. -

@xpatze85x said in Passwords messed up:
only passwords on websites, where i've got more than 1 account were changed and are now all the same
Interesting. I wonder if Sync just doesn't handle that case properly.

@burnout426 FWIW, I tested sync between 2 desktop Operas and Sync handles multiple password/account entries for the same site/URL no problem. So, it's supported in general. Still might be a bug with it though. Just not sure how to trigger it.

I have the same problem all of the passwords on the same domain change to the last one when you click on update the password. Now all my gmail acounts have the same passwords assigned to them. Opera needs to answer to this.

@xpatze85x Have you been making use of the "update password" button too?
If so, I'm wondering if the update button overwrites the password for all the entries for that domain where it's not really a sync issue that's causing it. You could probably test in Chrome and see if the same thing happens.

Interesting. I'm not seeing any fixes for passwords in the Opera changelog. Not seeing any password fixes in the Chromium changelog either.

@afshinism When do you get the "Update Password?" dialog/bar? Does it happen every time you sign in with a different account on the same site?

@burnout426 Or, just when you change your password for the account on the site and then try to log in with that new password in Opera?
It's just when logging in with the new password for me, but wanted to double check.
Also, are you doing the update button on desktop or is there one on mobile that you're tapping?

@burnout426 This still keeps happening it really messed up my life, when I click on update in desktop it replaces all passwords of the same domain.

@afshinism I tried doing exactly that and couldn't reproduce. After clicking the update button, only the password for that particular entry on that domain gets updated. The other entries for that domain keep their passwords as they were. Same with or without Sync enabled. I believe you of course. I just can't trigger it (with 2 desktop Operas synced. Not able to try with desktop Opera and Android Opera synced though).
Can you log out of Sync on mobile Opera, then, change the passwords for one of the accounts, log into it on desktop Opera with the new password, and click update to see if it still changes all passwords for all accounts on that domain?
If it still happen again, can you try again with Opera desktop logged out of Sync too?

@afshinism I have the same problem. With sync on all my passwords of the same domain messed up! I have already repair-replace all the wrong passwords, but today the problem appears again!
