Indeed! And thank YOU for being one of the few to express thanks for the hard work in which the developers have been engaged. It's great to hear some positive feedback here on the forum.

Oh please. :(( The Experimental Speed Dial is beyond awful. It has no viewable titles for folders, totally disorienting users. Further, the icon candy candy colors for the websites are garish and destroy the ability to enjoy the wallpaper. With that Speed Dial, I'm thinking of the old children's game, Candyland. It's not an adult's Speed Dial. With this Experimental Speed Dial, you can throw away your themes and wallpaper, as they are useless. With that Speed Dial, the last chance to be creative and decorative with Opera is gone. No changeable skins in Opera Blink, and then the last area, where one could be creative, with themes and wallpaper, made useless.
The thank you, Opera, is for letting us keep the regular Speed Dial with folders, the one that's been with us since Opera 15, which gives beautiful thumbnails of websites, not horrific icon junk. It works superbly with themes and wallpaper. Thank you Opera for maintaining that Speed Dial, which is the best one currently in existence. It's the real thing. It's the Wonder Wheel for Speed Dials. If you stop maintaining that one, you are going to lose users. It's nice to have change. But a wise company, when they have something really good, knows how to treasure it. and certainly, to keep it.

It's funny, that's exactly what I thought about many of the older opera unique features(I really miss the MDI interface) and now they're all gone.

Haha, @samkook, we're both aggrieved, though on different issues. Now Opera still hasn't ditched its classic, wonderful Speed Dial with folders, for this nasty Experimental one. They're using both. Sort of like Opera Blink and Opera Presto-- they still offer both. Now if Opera ditches their traditional speed dial with folders for the Experimental one, I may join forces with the Presto insurrectionists, as I'll have less reason to like Blink.

Look, Guys... can't you start "another" thread regarding your issues with the new browser instead of diverting this positive thread to something negative? kanitfastan happens to like the new speed dial. So do I. While I appreciate your position, I think it would be better to open another thread specifically addressing it. Just my two cents, mind you. Bear in mind that we both have done this regarding many other issues that disgruntled Presto users have had with the new Opera since August of 2013. And now here... you're doing the very same thing. :awww:

I personally feel it's more appropriate here since someone interested in the issue can see both side of the coin in one place.

I like the new Speed Dial page. Add the option to select the thumbnail for each tile and bring back the possibility to add extensions and it's superb.

Yes, @copywrong, exactly. It needs:
(1) the thumbnail option, so it can look as it did before the Experimental Speed Dial, (that way, (a) for those of us who like to use Themes/Wallpaper, the Themes/Wallpaper are not overwhelmed by the brightly colored icons, and (b) so that if you have two or more pages from the same website in one Speed Dial folder, you can -- or at least, may better be able to distinguish which page is which based on the thumbnail; with the icons, all the pages from the same website have exactly the same icon, so you're once again lost on what is what,
(2) the ability to add extensions (I understand the Speed Dial extensions aren't working with the Experimental Speed Dial), and one more thing . . .
It also needs: (3) a caption for each folder (that looks pleasing) -- the way it did before the Experimental Speed Dial. In the classic Speed Dial with folders, the caption changes from white to black automatically based on the background wallpaper, so that it's not made unreadable by the wallpaper (the way a white caption against white wallpaper, or a black caption against black wallpaper would be). That's a really nice touch. By the way, even the quite good Speed Dial with folders in Firefox, called Super Start gives you the caption. Without the caption, if you have a lot of folders, you may well be totally lost on where to go. The more folders you have, the more, I believe, you will be able to appreciate the problem. Yes, in the Experimental Speed Dial, you can hover with the cursor over the folder to see the caption, but if you have a lot of folders, you have to do too much hovering. It then becomes a terrible problem.
I do believe in trying to remain positive about things. It makes life a bit better to tolerate. But there is still something to be said for constructive criticism. I mean, what good is giving kudos for a product that isn't earned? If one does that, the party receiving the praise will think all is okay. And have reason to think that. The culpable party is the one giving the "feel good" praise, that really isn't earned by the product.

I don't understand the vision of Opera at all right now with respect to Stash, Speed Dial, and Bookmarks. I thought Bookmarks had been replaced with Speed Dial folders with thumbnail images. Now they're introducing Bookmarks that have less functionality than do the Speed Dial folders with thumbnail images while also having Speed Dial tiles that are in very shiny colors unless there happens to be a nice website logo image (on a less than 50% chance for the nice logos, though). Stash has been stashed away completely unless you tweak with Opera:flags now; hmmm, I guess bookmarking to "unsorted bookmarks" or "reading list" is supposed to replace Stash?
I think Opera is once again going in the wrong direction.
Going from Presto to Chrome was a big letdown ... I started to like the new Opera in time with Stash and Speed Dial folders with thumbnail images, but now we're turning away from that to something that is inferior and more confusing with sites in the same domain all having the exact same tile in the new Speed Dial folders and extra clicks now required to Bookmark or Add to Speed Dial or to add to Unsorted Bookmarks or Reading List or whatever instead of a one-click Stash.
It seems like Opera is grasping at straws instead of coming up with a plan/vision and pursuing it to set it apart from other browsers.

lem, you know I'm your biggest fan but on this, we'll agree to disagree. You're suggesting the new speed dial is far from perfect and have used some fairly strong words. Okay. Probably the best place to voice that opinion is in the developers' blogs and the Suggestion folder rather than here. You know that devs seldom read these forums and any suggestions are likely to be overlooked. Also, you're assuming that your criticisms override those who like the new speed dial (I'm one of them although I admit, my needs are not as great as yours). This browser is a work in progress and in all probability the speed dial is incomplete. I have faith in the devs, that they will make it the best that is available. Best wishes to you. Forgive me if I sounded harsh. It wasn't my intention.
