the auto update executable and rename it.

You dont explain how to do that, step by step...

By the way, I noticed a new file in this "opera folder". It's called "Manifest File". Do you know what is it and what is it used for ?
      Thanks

@operator777 I guess it was explained in this topic before. Also, you it should not be that difficult for you to search how to do that.

So, as said, you basically copy the path to the installation directory that you find in opera://about and paste it in Windows Explorer.

To rename the auto updater, right click on it and select the proper option.

@operator777 Usually it means that the update was already downloaded and it's ready to be installed.

I just tried a new method : Install old version of Opera but without any internet connection.

And did you rename opera_autoupdate.exe and disable the Opera tasks in the Windows Task Scheduler before going back online? If not, Opera will update on you.

Heuh no, I did not do that, i just deleted the autoupdate files in the opera folders, then delete the taskfiles in the windows cmd.

How do you rename this file and where is it situated ?

@operator777 You can rename or delete opera_autoupdate.exe. So, if you deleted it, then that's fine.

As we dont have images, we can not exactly imagine what to do.
Sorry for that, and thanks to you for your help.

@operator777 You said before that you have already tried that, so I guess you know how to do it.

Anyway, as I said, just open Windows Explorer and paste the path to the Opera installation directory in the address bar.

In Windows Explorer (File Explorer), I browse to the version folder in the install folder, right-click opera_autoupdate.exe, choose "rename" and then change the name to opera_autoupdate.off for example.

@operator777 Is the file in question an Opera file? If not, sounds like you need to ask at https://www.reddit.com/r/WindowsHelp/ for example.

Just install version 99 and then open properties on the shortcut on your desktop. In Target just add this at the end:
                                          --disable-update
Then you can start the opera and it will never update to newer version at all.
