Can't type in address bar immediately upon right-click opening Pvt Window

I recently performed a full reinstall of Windows 10 Home 64. Starting over, I also had to install Opera. Typically, I browse in Private Mode, accessing a private window via a right-click of the Opera icon on the taskbar and selecting "New private window." Up until this recent Windows reinstall, I could immediately type (or search) in the address bar using this method. However, now I cannot and it appears as though the new private window is not the active window (the icon has that pulsing activity animation Windows uses.) I have to actually click somewhere on the new window to use it.
Is this normal or did I somehow miss some setting somewhere post reinstall?
Thanks!
