Go to the official website of your preferred VPN provider. Make sure you always use the right website to avoid accidentally downloading a dangerous cracked VPN. Download the VPN app. After downloading the VPN, you only need to activate the app to be able to surf freely, securely and anonymously online.

Sounds like the VPN is already installed and the service is at least is running. Restart Opera, and look for the VPN icon in the Windows systray on the taskbar (click the up arrow to expand).
If that's not the case:
While Opera is closed, I'd goto Settings -> Apps -> Apps & Features in Windows, and see if there's a VPNPro entry. If so, try uninstalling it. You might have to go on the Services tab in the Windows Task Manager and stop the "VPNProService" service and end task on the "Opera VPN Pro UI (32 bit)" process on the processes tab first. Then, after the uninstall, delete the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Opera Norway AS\VPNPro", "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\OperaVPNUI", and "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\config\systemprofile\AppData\Roaming\OperaVPNService" folders in Windows Explorer (File Explorer) if they still remain. Also, delete all files and folders in "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\temp" and "C:\Windows\temp" (ignore ones Windows won't let you delete).
In the Windows registry, you can also delete "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Opera Norway AS" and the subkey under "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall" that's for the VPNPro installation if they remain. For the VPNPro installation key, look for "VPNPro" in the "DisplayName" string for the key. You can also look for the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\VPNProService" in the registry and delete that key.
Then, try to install the VPNPro in Opera again.

delete).
Thank you for taking the time to reach out. I am sure your ideas would work but it is a bit above my technical abilities! lol

@vegas007 We can start slower. Goto Settings -> Apps -> Apps & Features in Windows. Scroll through your list of installed apps. Do you see "VPNPro" in the list?

@burnout426 Hey Burnout. I followed these instructions and the installer no longer has an error mesage.
It now completes itself, but doesn't install anything at all.
I click install again, the installer finishes, and then... nothing. I checked the file locations, nothing is being installed.
I know this is an older thread, but it's the only thing I found online dealing with my problem.

Check out https://support-vpn-pro.opera.com/hc/en-us/articles/9683813618065-I-can-t-install-the-VPN-Pro-Desktop-app-What-should-I-do- and email support (email is on that page) if the page doesn't help. They should be able to help you sort it out.
