Disabling search suggestions doesn't actually disable it

Even after disabling search suggestions in the settings, I still get search suggestions when typing things into the address bar. Here is a screenshot of my settings:

And here's what I see when I type "a" into the address bar:

@bread73 Suggested sites and trending searches don't seem to be appearing on that screenshot.

@leocg my bad, I'm referring to the suggestion "pills" below the address bar. Is there no way to disable those? Can an option to disable them be added sometime in the future?

@bread73 I don't think there is a setting to disable search suggestions at all.
