What in the world were the designers of Opera Mail thinking? Email program with no filtration???

I should be able to filter by subject word or sender (this is a waste of time now of course as they send from constantly newly generated email addresses). It seems the utterly brilliant designers of this program have not heard of something called Spam, the most hated aspect of the internet. They decided to ignore it. Yes I know there's a spam filter but we all know these are useless and capture tons of legit mail. Probably designed by the same brilliant people that designed this email program. Everything else about this program is great. Its efficient, clearly laid out, it just works so well. I've delayed changing it for years even though I know I need to change as it hasn't been updated for such a long time. Still....we've had spam since the very beginning of the internet. I will never understand illogical aspects of tech like this. Its like so many people that write code are living in an alternate universe. A really dumb one. The first aspect people should learn in software school is Logic. How to step back and look at the big picture. Then design around those parameters.
