Opera Beta: Why replace home button with search button?

I'm an opera beta user and the recent update (69.0.3606.64969) was something I wasn't too happy about. You replaced the home button with a search button. What is the added value in this?! You can just tap the address bar to search! This is a huge mistake so I hope you will undo this.

@sahri81 I still see the home button on the bottom here, at least when I have a page opened.

@leocg Yeah I noticed. But it still doesn't make much sense to replace it imo.

@sahri81 It doesn't make sense to have the home/start page button when you are already in the start page.
