Chrome extension install stops with "checking"

Efforts to install chrome extensions hang with the feedback "checking". This is a new problem for me. I have used Opera extensively and, of course, deploy the 'Install Chrome Extension'. Thus, I have some extensions already functioning. But efforts to add new ones are now problematic. For example 'Dark Reader'. Any tips?

Resolved.

Somehow, my second monitor was causing the permission popup to appear off-screen. I realised this after entering workspace mode on Mac and saw that the window was way off.

Disconnecting my 2nd monitor and proceeding was how I solved my issue.

Trap for young players.
