Opera theme shortage

@treego Thanks but that's another thing altogether, wallpapers. I am complaining about browser themes, specifically PC browser themes. Only two options are available, dark and light. Both make it almost impossible to distinguish an open tab from the closed tabs.

@migueldickson Fair point on your part ... I was hoping these wallpaper alteration options might help in you identifying an open tab.
For my use, I have no issues in identifying open tabs without resorting to the use of alternative wallpapers.
I wish you well; I hope somebody else might have a better solution.

@migueldickson Here I have no problems identifying the active tab.
By the way, how other themes would help making such identification easier? Wouldn't they ending up with the same problem?

@leocg I use the latest version of Opera for PC, but the same issue existed in previous versions. In Settings, Appearance, there are only three options, two in practice. Dark, Light and System. System and Light are identical, so I don't even know what's up with that. For me, the Light is a little bit easier to identify the active tab than the Dark, but the difference is tiny. On both, the active tab color is almost exactly like the other tabs, but there is a hair of difference. When I want to close the active tab I always have to pause and concentrate to make sure of what I am closing. There are many themes in the Chrome Store on which the tab difference is stark, completely different, which avoids this annoying issue. Strangely, the extensions in the Chrome Store are usable on Opera. Just the themes are not. This problem does not exist on most themes available in the Chrome Store. But we cannot apply those themes to Opera. Why not? Chrome extensions, yes. Themes, no. Baffling.
If you have no trouble identifying the active tab, you've got far sharper eyes than I do.

@migueldickson If you choose the option System, Opera will follow the system theme, light or dark.

@migueldickson Opera has its own UI, it doesn't use Chromium one and that's why you can't apply Chrome themes on Opera.

@leocg Yep, but doesn't solve the basic problem. Opera needs more themes. All the other browsers I have seen and used, and that would be Lots, have more themes than Light and Dark. It's odd. And deficient. Bring the issue up the next time you're in China, or wherever management meets. Thanks in advance.

@migueldickson I don't think Opera needs more themes. It could offer more options, like Opera GX does? Yes, but I don't think there is real need for that.
Talking about that, maybe you could use Opera GX.

@leocg You don't think Opera needs more themes, that two are enough? Every other major browser, and I mean every one of them, offers scads of themes. It's much better. As for Opera GX, I see it's for gamers primarily. I leave that to the under-30 crowd. But thanks for the responses. I think we've taken this topic as far as necessary. Buenas noches from Mexico.

@migueldickson Brave Browser has only two themes -- Light and Dark --> I consider Brave to be a major browser nowadays.

@migueldickson Yes, I think that two themes, a light one and a dark one, is enough.
Nothing against having more options, I could even use one of them, but I don't think that Opera needs to offer more themes. -

@migueldickson About Opera GX, if you let alone the marketing part, it's Opera with a different UI and a few different features.

@treego Not so. One can download any of the scads of themes to Brave from the Chrome store.

@leocg I just read this thread, and wholeheartedly disagree with you. Themes are very important to personalize a browser to your personal needs. I really like Opera - but the lack of themes kills it for me. Back to Firefox. Sorry, but this is just not good enough.
