Does anyone knows why i'm receiving the following email almost every single day?

      Hello ***,

It has been a long time since we've seen you!

So long, in fact, that we're starting to wonder what has happened to you. As a
security measure, we've put your account on hold. Currently, you can no longer
log in to any Opera services.

If you still want to be friends, we'll keep a space open for you. Otherwise, we'll
delete your account and any data associated with it.

If you still want to use our services, and enjoy the Opera community, it's not too
late to let us know. Click this link:
      {Link Removed]
Take your time to think about it. We won't take action for the next 7 days.

If we don't hear from you by then, we'll remove all the data, content, comments,
images, cute GIFs, and other information associated with your account.

      All the best,
      Your friends at Opera

Almost sounds like it would be from My Opera. No images and gifs in here anymore, avatars are from Gravatar (+ few stock ones from the forums itself).

Is the link correct? Did you have more than one account? (I haven't heard from them about my other account ... there were times when I needed to see the community as a normal user would so I had 2 separate accounts.)

I mean, I got a phishing email claiming to be from Facebook the other day, but I have never had a Facebook account and the link didn't actually go to Facebook. I have yet to see an email like the one you posted, but then again my ISP does not like mail from opera.com so I simply may not be seeing it.

Yep, it seems to be. It leads to a page that says something like:

            You came back!
You're like an awesome zombie, only not all gross and undead and stuff.

We've reactivated your account, and all of your data is still here. You can now sign in to our services again.

Welcome back. We were worried there for a second, but we're glad to see you're still with us.

Did you have more than one account?

Yes. When i received the first email i thought it was related to that account but when the second and third has come, i became kinda clueless.

I remember that once i tried to login using Google Plus. Maybe it's related?

Ouch!, looks very suspicious to me. There is a very good chance you may have been a victim of a phishing scam, and I would change the passwords to all accounts affected, and any accounts that you have that use the same password if I were you. Just to be on the safe side.

The strange thing is that it does not ask for passwords. Also, Opera shows the green badge on the address bar.

If it's a phishing, it's very well done.

I've got the same problem. Every day a new e-mail warning me that my account is about to expire. Clicking the link takes me to the Opera web page telling med that the account is reactivated. Any help Opera???

                    Apologies for the late reply.
I'll clarify those emails and the whole issue.

A while back we introduced sign up through social networks like Facebook, Twitter, Google and VKontakte.
Due to their terms of service, we cannot keep any user information we obtained through their API in our databases for those accounts that have been inactive for 6 months or more.

This work was ready at the beginning of April 2014, so in October we started to mark inactive accounts (if originated via social networks) for deletion and emails were sent offering the possibility to reactivate the accounts.

The reactivation itself worked fine, but to complete the process a sign in following the reactivation was required.

Apparently many didn't sign in after clicking the reactivation link and seeing the "welcome back" page, thinking that at that point everything was done.

Yesterday we deployed a "fix" so that even without the sign in after the reactivation, the account is fully reactivated and won't come up as inactive the next day.

                    Sorry for the inconvenience.
