i was digging around the internet as usual, but a website started to download something. (thankfully it was large enough for me to cancel it in time). is there a way to stop this in the future?

@jojozacscott713 As far as I know, automatic downloads are disabled by default. You can check on site settings.

@leocg If you go to a page like Opera's own download page, the download starts automatically. Though by default you should get a Save dialog, but there is a setting which would hide that dialog.
On the one hand, no real need to worry - Opera will not automatically open a download. If you didn't really want it you can just delete it. And of course if you're not seeing the Save dialog you could re-enable it in Settings,

@leocg i looked in settings and i found a solution that works. thanks a ton. (side note: the setting i found was ask where to download stuff before downloading it. while it isnt the exact option i was looking for, it works the way i need it to.)

@jojozacscott713 I thought that you were talking about downloads that happens without you clicking on the download link.
