Hi! There is an option "exclude from dark mode" but how can I go back to dark mode for already exluded sites? In opera://settings/content I can;t see anything related.

      Thanks.

@andresadasdasa Can't you do it by right clicking on the page?

@leocg No, I can't. Selecting again this option from right click menu does nothing.

          Opera Version: 84.0.4316.21 Linux x86_64

Maybe this thread should be moved to feature request if there is no such option?

You can goto the hidden page at the URL opera://settings/content/forceDarkMode to see the override lists.

                opera://settings/content/forceDarkMode

I tried this but it is empty:

                Force dark pages

                Customized behaviors
Sites listed below follow a custom setting instead of the default

                Disable: No sites added

                Enable: No sites added

I've added to "enable" excluded site but nothing changed, it is still in white mode.

Goto the URL opera://about, take note of the "profile" path, and close Opera.

In the profile folder, edit the "Preferences" file with a JSON viewer (JSONedit in tree mode for Windows or Geany for Linux maybe). Under root/profile/content_settings/force_dark_mode, make sure there are no entries for any sites. An easy way to do that is to just delete the whole force_dark_mode node. Then, save your changes.

The force_dark_mode list should just reflect what's at the URL opera://settings/content/forceDarkMode, but mabye there's an entry stuck in the preferences file.

As for the global "force dark pages" setting in Opera, you can find that as force_dark_mode_enabled under root/webkit/webprefs. You can just delete the force_dark_mode_enabled node if present.

In short, if you delete both the force_dark_mode and force_dark_mode_enabled nodes, that should reset the dark mode settings back totally to default as if you the user had a new profile and hadn't messed with them yet. If doing this doesn't fix things, it's likely the cause of your issue is something else (like an extension or profile corruption somewhere else).

If you use Opera Sync, log out of sync before you shut down Opera and edit the Preferences file and test things like that first before logging back into sync. If things work fine and then the issue comes back when you log back into Opera Sync, you'll know your sync data is messed up and you'll have to reset it.

Here If I right click on the page, there is an option to enable Force Dark Pages on it again.

Linux? Only exclude is visible option what is not logical after excluded that site.

Weird that the preferences file and opera://settings/content/forceDarkMode were different.

Does the site in question render in dark mode in a private window?
