ShipleyJ, they say some settings are hidden treated as advanced, and one needs to go to opera-flags first to activate them.

Thank you joshi - I didn't know about flags until your comment. Flags may be too advanced for me, but I also don't understand why Opera would choose to make importing bookmarks hidden. If that's the case, I'm very disappointed, especially because I really do like some of its features.

Opera Help (http://help.opera.com/Windows/12.10/en/importexport.html) says:
This tutorial is for Opera 12.
At the moment Opera Blink does not have a built-in feature to import bookmarks from other browsers.
You can try to do this:
- Enable opera://flags/#first-run-import and close Opera
- Make Firefox your default browser
- Reinstall Opera
- Run Opera

leocg - thank you for the instructions and information. I am discouraged that Opera makes this so difficult. (And NO Print preview?? ) I will look at the tutorial for Opera 12, but is there no tutorial for Opera 24? Can you recommend the best website/web page to go to for help with Opera 24? Thank you again.

You can use this site :wizard:
Also I saw an Opera community group on Facebook, with over a thousand members - but I can't say anything about it.Apart from that, I guess you can try a 'developer' version of nuOpera - to already get accustomed to some things what they're likely to be when your latest 24 updates to the next latest stable version...
They say 25 has already(how fast!)
a bookmark manager - there are issues with it already revealed judging by this forum; and there's also 26dev, but I haven't heard anything either good or essentially bad about it yet... -

As i said, there is no bookmark importer on Opera Blink yet. It may come in the future as Operas 25 will/may come with a bookmarks manager.
No print preview yet.

joshi - right -this site is undoubtedly the best place for help. And leocg - I didn't know what Opera "Blink" was until checking Wikipedia. I knew I had Opera 24, and that's about it! (Remember I'm a newbie here, but will try to ask reasonably intelligent questions ;-). Appreciate the good feedback and tips from you both - will stick with it and keep checking this forum! thanks-

I am finding Opera an interesting browser. Used to use it years ago in Windows but eventually moved to others. I download and installed the 25beta release.
The biggest issue I have is what others have already mentioned, namely the inability to import bookmarks.
It seems someone just blew it with this. Every other browser I use has the capability, but not Opera 25. I've tried all the solutions mentioned and no help. For now I'll keep using it on a casual basis and see if it will come along.

Opera -> More tools -> Import bookmarks and settings... (but you need Opera 26(.0.1646.0) for it)
