Extension icons not visible

Running Opera Version:83.0.4254.27
When I add a new extension it's icon shows up momentarily to the right of the address bar, as expected, but disappears in a second or two. Is there a way to pin it so it stays?

@vjcoppola You can pin them from the extensions menu, the cube like icon in the top right.
