Opera 84 Dev news

Hello.
I am not sure if this is a bug report or a request, so I will mention it here.I'm using it from a laptop. I'm not happy with the zoom in/out function using the touchpad.
In the past in this browser, zooming with the touchpad did not mean zooming in or out of the whole page. It is no longer possible to see the image in detail. I would like to know if this is a bug or if it will be a future specification.
Kind regards. Thank you.

@operauserx
I want to zoom just a picture.
BUT Opera Dev do whole page.
I know "Ctrl +" function. I need to say that any zoom automatically behave "Ctrl +"ed zoom, if you clicked the picture.I send a movie as a bug report BS-24386. Please check the submission. Thank you.

Hi @broliant-viyara, what about the latest version, is it still crashing for you?
Have you tried already to launch the browser using a fresh profile, does it crash also in this case?
I assume you are on Windows right, which version? -

Hi @darkchaplain, first thing you should be aware of I'm not Opera's employee, but for sure they read the forums, so your request will be noticed and perhaps reconsidered as well.

@operauserx It' s a whole page of a single image.
It's like trying to cover a torn wine bag with your hand. If it's a specification, I don't have a choice...... -

@l33t4opera I suspect the cause of the problem must lie within my profile. I didn't have time to investigate this before the new version (84.0.4267.0) was released though I had some suspicions because the previous version that I first reported the problem with was fine on a different device.
When I ran the update to 84.0.4267.0 I experienced the same repeat-crashing behaviour.
I then closed Opera Developer, removed the two "Opera Developer" folders below and restarted Opera. Though of course it comes up completely un-customised, it came up and stayed up. So, problem must be in the profile.
C:\Users{username}\AppData\Local\Opera Software\Opera Developer
C:\Users{username}\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera Developer[Just for an aside...]
Luckily for me, I have all versions of Opera installed on my machine alongside each other along with most major browsers. They all have their niche roles to play though Opera Developer has been my daily-driver for the bulk of my browsing. I switched to Opera GX over the past week ... not too painful since I had all the same plugins in each Opera installed already. Bookmarks sync between Opera browsers via Opera Sync. Passwords via a password manager. The main thing I lost was that I had not exported the cookie/javascript permission rules in the addon I use so each site I visited this past week was back to zero Javascript running until I advised which scripts were allowed and which were blocked.I can probably automate a sync on that in the future between browsers. I'm hoping the addon uses the same format across all platforms because I use the same addon in all Chrome browsers and Firefox, .,.. it's been in the back of my mind for while to look into doing that anyway. Will have to look into where the addon saves that data to. Might have to wait until the New Year though... things are getting busy for some reason just now!
Thanks for following up with me. Will transition most of my preferences back to 'Developer' in due course. Back to normal soon!

Hi @operauserx, maybe you can add a post with your request under the Suggestions and feature requests section.
This way, it will be more noticeable for the Opera's guys and also other users, that may want to see it implemented in the browser. -

@broliant-viyara, if you still have that old Opera's profile, you can try the following:
1. Launch the Opera with the "--disable-extensions" switch.
You need to add it at the end of the shortcut you use to launch the Opera as follows:"\Path\to\launcher.exe" --disable-extensions
.
If that helps, close the browser and remove the switch. Run the Opera again and disable all extensions, start enabling extensions one by one and see which one is the culprit of the crash.2. Run the Opera with the "--no-experiments" switch.
If that helps, go to "opera:flags", press "Reset all" button in the top right corner and close the browser. Remove the switch and run the Opera again. -
