I'm using Opera on a Chromebook tablet capable of running Android apps.

After hunting all around I simply cannot find where to customize what appears in the sidebar. Settings, Profile, Customizstion, all do not seem to offer that option.

@dlfuller Opera for Android doesn't have a sidebar.

@dlfuller Did you try right clicking on the sidebar?

Thanks @leocg, but there sure is a sidebar, a narrow one that expands when the hamburger icon at the top is clicked. And on a tablet, a "right-click" is typically a long press. Nothing happens there.

@dlfuller In Opera for Chromecast there is a sidebar, as your image shows, but not in Opera for Android.

If the sidebar appers when you click on the hamburger menu, it's probably just it's sub-menus and can't be customized.

Thanks again @leocg. Seems like a big omission.

The right-click approach brings up a dialog "Customize Opera…" which is the same as Profile > Settings.

The sidebar could be more useful than it is now and also not include unwanted icons.
