Getting back old bookmarks

So, I've been using opera without sync for some time, gathered some bookmarks, and decided to log in to opera (for some reason it logged me out weeks ago and I didn't notice). I log in, and it wiped my new gathered bookmarks with old synced bookmarks. Is there way to restore those unsynced bookmarks?

@avoidanceanddistrust See if there is a file named Bookmarks.bak in ~/.config/opera-stable with a timestamp before you re-enabled Sync, if so copy it somewhere safe before you close Opera so that it doesn't get overwritten. Then close Opera. Give it enough time to let all background Opera processes complete, then delete Bookmarks and replace it with the file you copied earlier (meaning rename it to Bookmarks and then copy it). Note though this should remove any bookmarks Sync added from your other system(s),
