      @nikoseleftherios lets test these steps:

      Go with opera browser to

      https://echo.opera.com

Look at the results, is your phone type device name in the results?

Now go to within Opera browser in the settings and choose opera to display desktop site instead of mobile site.

      Again go to

      https://echo.opera.com

Look at the results, is your phone type device name still in there?

You can set back opera browser to mobile website when done if you want.

@ginger1984 When i use "Desktop Mode" my phone name won't appear, but with normal mode on phone it appears. There's something wrong with it?

@nikoseleftherios you solved it. Every browser sends a header when visiting a website. Almost every browser includes the mobile device name. This device name is extracted. The website knows the device name and with java script makes a popup telling what device one has.

I could only make this working without device name at my tablet. In always desktop mode.

The popup is therefore at the website happening.

You now know what actually happened. It isn't something to worry about but it's annoying. Future coming chromium based browsers will omit the device type name.

It is however usually used to decide what type version of a website will be shown. However nowadays the screen size should be enough for websites to know.

@ginger1984 What exactly it has to do with the subject of the topic? It doesn't explain why there is a pop-up even with pop-up blocker enabled.

@nikoseleftherios Sometimes the pop-up is triggered by something you do on the page and those may be hard to block, because it may also block what you are trying to do.

@leocg the website uses device information and pretends it is Opera doing this. A lot of people don't understand how a website knows which device people have. So I explained how the displayed popup knew to pretend being Opera browser.

@leocg yes, if all popup would be blocked legitimate popup like login wouldn't work anymore. It's better to have occasionally popup unwanted than having a wanted popup not displaying. I visited the website and don't have popup. But I am on tablet in always desktop mode.

@ginger1984 OK, nice, however it wasn't the discussion of this topic but why the pop-up appeared.

@ginger1984 Usually those pop-ups with ads have a target audience, so not everyone will see them.

@nikoseleftherios hey bro as compared to chrome in the matter of PopUp ads, Opera Open very less number of popup Opera For Android blocked a lot of Popup ads that is not blocked by Chrome, this is my personal experience.
